Introduction to Archive Team
Established in 2009, Archive Team is a passionate collective of rogue archivists dedicated to preserving the rapidly diminishing or deleted websites for the sake of history and digital heritage. This group consists entirely of volunteers and enthusiasts, and has branched out into numerous related initiatives aimed at safeguarding online and digital history.
Purpose and Philosophy
History is often marred by countless disputes regarding the future of communities, groups, locations, or businesses that have been “resolved” through the complete destruction of what existed. When the original issue is obliterated, discussions tend to fade away. Archive Team believes that by replicating endangered data, discussions and debates can persist, along with the invaluable insights gained from retaining these materials. Our projects vary significantly, from individual volunteers downloading resources from small yet crucial sites to over 100 volunteers working collectively to gather terabytes of user-generated content for the benefit of future generations.

Collection and Resources
This archive includes the results of numerous Archive Team initiatives, both ongoing and completed. Thanks to the generous allocation of disk space by the Internet Archive, we can offer multi-terabyte datasets that are also utilized by the Wayback Machine, granting access to lost websites and works.

The Archive Team Panic Downloads consist of comprehensive pulls from currently existing websites, designed to serve as emergency backups for vital sites at risk of closure or those that would be greatly missed if suddenly lost due to hard drive failures or server problems.
